Created by the approval of Complementary Law nº 542, September 27th, 2005, the International Affairs Advisory has as its main attribution to project the city of Santos in the International scenario and to make contact with international entities.

It also works as an instrument of support and help of technical advisory in international affairs and international law to all projects developed by Santos City Hall, including all the Secretariats where international participation is envolved.

The city of Santos participates in international city nets, specifically MERCOCIDADES and URBAL – EU, which represents opportunities of cooperation with diverse cities and exchanging experiences in public politics programs for the solutions of common problems.

Furthermore it stimulates the possibility of foreign companies investments in the city, which is very important for the development of local economy.
